If you’ve recently been shopping The Collection, you might have stumbled upon our newly acquired Gucci Emerald Green and Black Strapless Dress. It’s gorgeous, we know. You might have also noticed that this dress is straight from the Italian house’s Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection. Remember that collection? Gucci’s past creative director, Frida Giannini, transcended Art Deco motifs into the brand’s forty-two look collection. 1920’s ‘architectural shapes,’ specifically the New York City skyscrapers of that era, was what Giannini drew inspiration from, when designing the collection. The structure of the silhouettes, as well as the prints and embellishments, in the Gucci Spring 2012 RTW, captured the style of Jazz Age, which was incredibly popular in 2012. Just take a look at our three other favorite looks from the collection, and you’ll see why. Take our Gucci strapless dress; the color blocking technique, beaded waistline, and accordion-folded skirt was a true-to-form flapper dress that once strutted down the runway.
Gucci’s Spring 2012 RTW Collection was a success, each look better than the last. Lucky for you, the Gucci Emerald Green and Black Strapless Dress is available on The Collection. So, what’s stopping you from checking it out?
