The Darker Side of Spring

This spring, we’re taking a darker approach to the new season. Intricate prints illuminated with rich hues, luxe leather accessories and silk garments topped our must haves list. We can never resist a striking hat and this one by Saint Laurent is perfection. Additionally, nothing screams spring like a floral dress (just ask Miranda Priestley) and Dolce & Gabbana shows off their expert craftsmanship in this stunning silk design. Will you go straight for pastels this season, or embrace the darker side of spring?

5 Things to Try: New York Fashion Week, Chicago’s Best Party & More!

The weather might be dismal, but February is shaping up to be one of our favorite months! We usher in New York Fashion Week, and with that comes a wide array of trends to obsess over, which completely takes our mind off the cold. Fall is on the brain! On the local front, there are a ton of ways to do good this month, because giving back is always in style. On February 18th, the Peggy Notebaert Museum hosts Chicago’s Volunteer Expo, where over 85 non-profit organizations meet so you can learn what volunteer opportunities are the perfect fit. Additionally, Chicago’s best party for a worthy cause kicks off on February 23rd. Tickled Pink for Bright Pink aims to bring awareness to the prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer. Mid-month, grab your favorite gals and head to Brideside for an epic Galentine’s Day celebration. Might we suggest trying out the vibrant pink eyes trend at this time too? Whatever you decide to do, February is sure to be full of love!

5 Things to Try: Art Inspired Prints, Ethereal Makeup and a Little Magic

It’s never too early to start thinking about spring. After all, we only need to power through sixty more days of winter! With so many bold and bright colors on the 2018 runways, we can’t help but dream of our warm(er) weather wardrobes. Art inspired prints were impossible to ignore, and we can’t wait to rock our favorite painters in the new season. On the makeup front, gilded lids gave us all the feminine feels. Paired with a soft lip and little blush, this ethereal artistry makes us feel lighter already (even if we are still weighed down with puffer coats and boots).

This Friday, Restaurant Week kicks off in Chicago! If there is a place you’ve been dying to try, now is the time to make a reservation. Why not make an entire evening out of it and go see a show after dinner? Head to the Palmer House Hilton and watch Dennis Watkins perform at The Magic Parlour. It will be an evening of utter amazement! It’s also the perfect time to rock spring’s best hair trend (even if it is a little early) – the braided bun. This runway ready look is easy to achieve at home. Here’s a YouTube video to help you get started. Happy January!
